The Human Resources Department, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the training program Ajial under which a group of secondary school and university students are offered annual training sessions at the RTA out of its commitment to instill positive values & principles in students. Training started on the first of July and is set continue through August 25th 2014.
Ms. Kawther Kazim, Director of RTA Human Resources & Development, said: “We are always keen on running a summer training program for students each year to attract Emirati students in secondary schools and universities in a bid to impart in them the value & importance of work and fill their free time by proper activities involving the performance of activities of benefit in future. The summer training offers students exposure to multiple experiences by engaging them in various sectors, agencies and departments of the RTA; which will contribute to realizing the set objectives of motivating them to grasp working attitudes and instill in them the principles of serving the community. An induction gathering was held for students by specialists in the Department where they were briefed about RTA and the summer internship along with a brief account about Idaad program designed for fresh graduates, and the scholarships program of the RTA,” she added.
“For the first time the summer training program will include a contest entitled: I Read and Admired; aimed at encouraging students to read diverse topics such as Flashes of Thoughts, and the last expression about a story of the RTA history. This contest is aimed at motivating students to read and pick up the skills of searching and reading, and the winners of the first three positions will be rewarded by cash prizes,” continued Kazim.
“Training courses and various field visits will be provided to students such as visiting RTA Achievements Gallery comprising landmark projects accomplished by the RTA, and external visits using public transport means (abra, buses, metro) to familiarize them with the achievements and services provided by the RTA in the field of public transport, and raise the corporate profile of the RTA in the community. A brain-storming session will be held for students for contributing new ideas capable of improving RTA service offering,” concluded the Director of RTA Human Resources and Development.
