The Public Transport Agency, Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), announced that the Gold Souk Bus Station (nearby Gold Souk in Deira) is being temporarily relocated to Palm Deira Metro Station starting from July 1st, 2014 (from the start of the holy month of Ramadan) where all requisites of the station in terms of services, equipment and NOL selling machines will be in place.
Eisa Al Hashmi, Director of Planning and Business Development, Public Transport Agency, said: “Relocating the Gold Souk Bus Station to Palm Deira Metro Station is dictated by the need to build a new Gold Souk Bus Station to accommodate the rising number of public bus riders in the area; which is witnessing bustling business activities throughout the week. Accordingly, routes of buses operating on the new site at the Palm Deira Metro Station will be: (27), (17), (13), (10), (8), (4), (91A), (64A), (13D), (11A), (64), (53), (43), (X94), (X23), (X10), (C28), (C09), (C07), (C05), and (C04).”
“Starting from July 1st, some improvements will be introduced including reducing the path of Route (C19) to start from Deira City Center Station and will not reach Ghubaiba Bus Station. The path of Route (F8) feeding the Dubai Metro stations will be extended to cover Toyota Service Center at the Dubai Festival City, path of Route (53) will be diverted to Bani Yas Square and will not reach Al Ras Metro Station and Sabkha Marine Transport Station, and the path of Route (E16) will be modified and will no longer reach Gold Souk Bus Station,” added Al Hashmi.
The Director of Planning and Business Development, Public Transport Agency, reiterated RTA’s keenness to keep the public transport users informed about any changes or modifications undertaken by the Agency in this regard via press news, social media networks, brochures, leaflets and text messages.
