In line with its ongoing green initiatives, Villa Rotana Dubai is proud to be taking part in the UAE Green Festival, a month long countrywide celebration that is specifically designed to educate people across the seven emirates about a new way of life that’s achievable in an enjoyable way, the festival is in line with the UAE’s green growth and vision 2021.
The festival started from 16 March and ends on 16 April, during this period Villa Rotana’s colleague presented an array of exciting activities to educate and engage with guests during this time.
Many colleagues from different departments created creative hand-crafted art artefacts from recyclables items that were displayed at the lobby, so guests can vote the best displayed items from 30 March – 5 April. The aim of the exhibition was mainly to encourage Villa Rotana Dubai employees to segregate waste at their workplace. Moreover, Moka Café, the All-dining restaurant, is offering during this period special menus made from organic and local ingredients.
Kinan Al Ghraoui, General Manager of Villa, Rihab and Rimal Rotana, said, “We are proud to participate in UAE Green Festival 2014 and joining forces to create awareness in how to conserve the environment by strengthening and promoting green practices. The various activities of the Festival not only reach out to our guests but also to the local residents.”
In this occasion, Jawad Ali, Environment, Health and safety Manager of the 3 hotels, added, “We are happy to celebrate sustainability through UAE green festival 2014 which will enable us to further reinforce our committed efforts to conserve natural resources.”
In addition, Villa Rotana Dubai recently organized an awareness session about water conservation, water & energy and sustainability in collaboration with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the event aimed to strengthen awareness on the need to rationalise the use of electricity and water, and to adopt eco-friendly and energy efficient technologies. After the awareness session, a group of colleagues from Villa, Rihab and Rimal Rotana distributed 1,000 bottles of water to municipality and construction workers working outside in harsh conditions across specific areas in Dubai.
