RTA employees obtain Asset Management certification from Britain

A number of employees from the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have obtained international certification in Asset Management from the British Institute of Asset Management (IAM) after clearing the relevant testswhich were coordinated with the IAM.

Udai Al Deesi, Director of Asset Management, RTA Corporate Technical Support Services Sector, said: “Having 10 employees affiliated to various sectors and agencies of the RTA who succeeded in obtaining this international certification and demonstrating their merit by passing this tough test bears reference to the high abilities and qualifications they have in the field of their business domain in the RTA. Such an award will undoubtedly contribute to charting out futuristic plans and visions about how to maintain RTA assets in an efficient and effective manner.

“On the same lines, the RTA Asset Management Department, in collaboration with the Human Resources and Development Department, has concluded a training program entitled ‘Asset Manager’ offering specialist programs about the mechanism of implementing the standards of RTA Asset Management to align them with the highest international standards, particularly the ISO 55001. The training program also aimed at enhancing the culture of RTA employees in the field of asset management, and honing their skills in how to conserve and maintain RTA assets effectively and efficiently,” continued Al Deesi.

“The RTA is always keen on adopting a series of specialist training programs that contribute to boosting modern conceptions amongst RTA employees in general and Asset Management Department employees in particular in order to uplift our business practices to the highest standards of excellence. Such training programs are part of business processes oriented towards diffusing the culture of asset management across the RTA,” added the Director of RTA Asset Management.

It is noteworthy that segments targeted by the program included employees responsible for projects planning; preparation & implementation of asset management plans; quality, health, safety & environment; IT&electronic systems in addition to asset management officials.
