The WGSN Trend Edit seminar will take place at 2pm on the main catwalk each day of the exhibition, which runs from the 26th – 28th of October at the National Exhibition Centre, Abu Dhabi.
WGSN fashion experts Sally O’Rourke and Gemma Harker will be presenting the latest analysis on emerging trends for womenswear Spring/Summer 2011 and colour directions for Autumn/Winter 2010/11. Audiences will be able to view the key looks tipped for commercial success as they are modelled on the catwalk.
WGSN’s Trend Edit Seminars are a popular feature of many fashion exhibitions across the globe as they provide buyers and designers with essential analysis on the key trends in colour, silhouette & detailing, shape, styling, vintage and catwalk and how they translate to collections commercially to become seasonal best sellers. Their debut at Fashion Expo Arabia reflects a growing market in this region and the promise of the Middle East as a growing player in the fashion industry.
“The Middle East, in particular Abu Dhabi, is a rapidly developing and highly lucrative market. The launch of Fashion Expo Arabia is a necessary and strategic move to further cement the UAE as a serious player in the global fashion industry,”
says Gemma Harker, Senior Editor of Trade Shows and Events, WGSN.
The exhibition will play host to thousands of trade buyers and retailers as well as hundreds of European and regional fashion brands, making the event an important component in the developing creative identity of the United Arab Emirates’ capital.
“WGSN is delighted and very excited to be involved with the first edition as this is a market with huge commercial potential. Our daily trend seminars will be guiding buyers and fashion professionals to make the right decisions, ensuring that they have the information to be able to make their collections a success,” Sandra Halliday, Global Managing Editor, WGSN.
