Middle East continues to offer the best intellectual capital for leading universities

United Arab Emirates: Sunday, October 25 - 2009 @ 13:14

Beginning from October 27th, the 2009 MBA admissions events will be held in Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and the UAE respectively. The drive is supported by Booz & Company, a leading global management consulting firm and Amwal AlKhaleej, a leading private equity firm in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and the first and only regional private equity firm to be founded and headquartered in Saudi Arabia.

Events in Kuwait and the UAE will also include an alumni reception. In addition, Professor Gultekin, one of Wharton’s most eminent professors and a world authority on finance, will participate in the sessions in Kuwait and UAE.

Jackie Zavitz Senior Associate Director, MBA Admissions, The Wharton School, said:

“For the past several years, Wharton has shown great commitment to the Middle East. In March 2009, we held our Global Alumni Forum in Dubai and we are back to explore the abundant local talent that characterizes this dynamic economy. Over the years, a significant number of students from the Middle East have enrolled at The Wharton School and our Middle East alumni represent all key sectors, such as, financial services, consulting, and public policy.”

Our MBA program continues to be one of the most diverse in the world and offers students unique opportunities to benefit from an exceptionally strong network of regional and global alumni.”
Fadi Arbid, Executive Vice President and Country Head for Saudi Arabia, Amwal AlKhaleej, and Wharton alumnus said: “We are delighted to have this opportunity to interact with Wharton alumni and prospective students. Amwal AlKhaleej’s greatest asset is the quality of its team and we take an active interest in promoting intellectual capital in the Middle East.
As part of this endeavor, we have written a number of white papers on MENA private equity trends in conjunction with Knowledge@Wharton, and our support for Wharton’s 2009 MBA admissions drive is an extension of our commitment to thought leadership.”

Gabriel Chahine, Partner, Booz & Company, said, “Booz & Company, like Wharton, is committed to bringing the world the innovative knowledge, tools and solutions required for achieving business excellence; Wharton realizes this through education and Booz & Company through application.

As an organization committed to furthering innovation and economic development in the region, we are pleased to support one of the world’s leading institutions in business education in the Middle East”.
