Xclusive members will soon be able to put their skills to the test and drive an Xclusive-branded racing car at the soon-to-be-opened Dubai Autodrome, which will be the first fully integrated motor sports and automative facility in the region.
“For anyone who has ever dreamt of owning a racing car and putting it through its paces, this is the perfect opportunity without having to invest time and money in trying to find the perfect vehicle,” said Chris Gardner, Xclusive Managing Director.
The unique partnership, to be officially announced at the 7th Middle East International Motor Show, is the first of its kind in the region and allows Xclusive members access to an Xclusive owned and branded motor car, which will be kept at the Dubai Autodrome when it opens in April 2004, complete with a world-class FIA sanctioned motor racing track, 5.35kms in length.

According to Olivier Chappuis, Formula X Gulf General Manager, the objective of Formula X Gulf is to develop motor racing in the Arab world and to ensure that Mid East drivers can make it to Formula 1 level.
“The Formula X system is original, unique and global,” he added. “All the cars are identical ‘2 cars in one’, with the same chassis and engines and several different series with the same racing car. The single car seater can be turned, in just minutes, into a sports car version, meaning a Single Seater SS provides a 200 hp engine in a 400 kg car … and is shaped as F1. The SS is generally introduced to juniors from 16 to 25 years old. The Sport Version LM is the same car, but a different shape, similar to Le Mans cars. This is often used for team drivers who have more experience and are generally over 25 years old.”
Formula X, which started in Europe back in 1991, is investing millions of dollars in bringing a fleet of 24 racing cars to Dubai.
“We are hoping to stage a demo race in April 2004 at the Dubai Autodrome and after the summer, race full throttle in Dubai, Qatar and Bahrain with a minimum of 12 races in 2004,” he added.
To become a Formula X driver, have attend a Formula X specific training school which will open at the Dubai Autodrome from next year.
“Once the driver has gained the necessary skills, trained in a Formula X car, then they can apply for an FIA approved International Driving License through our driving school which will allow them to drive worldwide.”
Xclusive members can join in the training sessions by utilizing their points which are automatically accredited to them with each membership level on a variety of lifestyle products, including Formula X.
Chris Gardner explained: “Every membership level has a number of points available to spend on an annual basis for the term of the member’s membership.
“So, if they wanted to use a portion of their points on Formula X then we will arrange everything for them!”
Each Xclusive product, which includes yachts, cars, hotels and other luxury lifestyle products, has a point value that is calculated depending on type of product, season location and length of time it is booked for.
An Xclusive member simply checks how many points they have in their account then chooses the leisure product they want to book, contacts the Xclusive reservation team and booking is confirmed.
