“We couldn’t be more delighted to announce our official animation partnership with the glamour event of the year,”
confirmed Danish Farhan, chief executive of Xische Digital, after signing the sponsorship with festival director and CEO Neil Stephenson and the Dubai International Film Festival committee.
Alex Dubus, Visual Effects Producer at Xische added: “It’s going to be a welcome challenge for Xische to encapsulate the festival into an abstract stylized animated feature. It’s a direction you don’t normally see in this part of the world, but the festival is truly committed to breaking the mould, as the festival’s tag line eloquently captures it.” As part of its partnership, the award-winning team at Xische will produce an animated feature intrinsically building on visual elements of the festival to set the tone for the cinematic experience prior to every gala screening at the Madinat Jumeirah.
Hans Burgschmidt, the Director of Festival Production for the Dubai International Film Festival briefed: “The direction of the animated piece needs to evoke a sense of cinematic allure that transcends cultural boundaries.” He then continued along with the committee to brief the digital team at Xische about the key messages to be captured in the deliverables. The festival, only in its second year, has already been lauded as a unique mix of cinema unlike most focussed festivals in the world. The star-studded event runs from the 11th to the 17th of December 2005 at the Madinat Jumeirah.
“Films of this caliber deserve to be seen and appreciated, and it is our privilege to be sharing our digital expertise to build a brand-in-motion at this year’s festival. When the world’s top film makers leave Dubai, we hope that they leave with a better understanding of how Dubai is a platform to perhaps help them do some inspired work,” quipped Farhan.
The Dubai International Film Festival Committee has handed Xische the imaginative task to conceptualize and craft a unique, striking and enduring adaptation of the horse in motion. “We intend to reflect this philosophy in a striking animated version of the now popular festival logo to be used across all its video communication including the internationally aired television commercial,” explained Dubus.
Xische is the first digital innovation agency of its kind in the Middle East. Its convention defying approach coupled with its own range of proprietary digital technologies reflects in its eccentric name Xische –pronounced ‘zee-shay.’ An independent agency, the founders of Xische follow half a decade of having conceived and built Dubai Media City based online agency 13thStudios in early 2001. “We are proud to have been a part of the Dubai Media City community since the early beginnings of Dubai’s vision to become the media hub of the Middle East,” concluded Farhan.
