Saudi Arabia e-Government presented in Geneva World Summit on Information Society

The workshop was delivered at the World Summit on Information Society in Geneva which was organized by International Telecommunication Union, where Yesser Program represented the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology among the Kingdom’s delegation that participated in the Summit.

The delegation was headed by Governor of Communication and Information Technology Commission Eng. Abdullah Al-Dharrab, who is the Head of National Committee for Information Society.

Eng. Ali Bin Saleh Al-Soma, Yesser’s Director General, deliberated in a workshop titled “e-Government in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Achievements and Future”, what the Kingdom has achieved in the area of e-Government pointing out the great support of the Kingdom’s Leadership.

He summarized what the government agencies have achieved in shifting to e-Government throwing light on the prominent projects and national shared initiatives which support such a shift. He also presented the infrastructure projects in the national arena such as the National e-Government Portal “Saudi”, Government Secure Network “GSN” and Government Service Bus “GSB”.

In the same regard, Eng. Mustafa Khan, Manager of Yesser’s Center of Excellence for Research and Development, delivered a presentation about change management projects that support shifting to e-Government.

He pointed out streamlines of training offered to employees of the different government agencies to be well-skilled for leading the process of transferring their agencies into e-Government.

At the end of the workshop, the e-Government 2nd Action Plan and the Kingdom’s Vision relating to e-Government had been illustrated before an open discussion was availed for the attending persons.

The workshop was attended by a number of employees of the Saudi Consulate in Geneva and the Saudi Delegation for the United Nations in addition to members of a range of UN organizations and others.
