The award is designed to value efforts made by government agencies to support the keen interest of the kingdom’s wise leadership in providing better and more customer friendly services to individuals and businesses.
The award contributes to development and improvement of business processes in government agencies. It provides a platform for acknowledging and for boosting of effective cooperation between government agencies to ensure high quality e-services to citizens, expatriates and business organizations. The award is envisaged as a tool for stimulating innovation and as a means for government agencies to showcase eGovernment improvements and accomplishments. Moreover, it contributes to developing tangible performance improvements of the government agencies, highlights their outstanding achievements and entrench the concept of the “electronic environment” for contributing to the welfare of the Saudi society.
The award objectives include the motivation of government agencies to deliver better and more customer friendly services to individuals. It encourages government agencies to join forces in order to deliver integrated and highly efficient services to individuals and business. Moreover, it highlights and rewards efforts made by e-services teams within government agencies and attempts to motivate government agencies to contribute to promoting the national economy by delivering quality e-services to the business sector. It strives to contribute to the culture of adapting the best practices and standards. Also, encourages government agencies to examine and shape these standards for Saudi needs while developing and delivering their agency’s services. Furthermore, citizens are given the opportunity to participate to the designing of better government e-services.
The award will highlight the winning agencies as model examples that utilize ICT technology to deliver services to customers and support them as a “Saudi reference for e-services”. The award is divided into seven categories: Category No. (1): Serving People Better (Government to Citizen): This award recognizes those government entities that have used ICT to provide and improve government services, transactions and interactions with citizens and residents. Category No. (2): Promoting Economy (Government to Business): This award recognizes those government entities that use ICT for improved services, transactions and interactions between government and the private sector. Category No. (3): Working Across Agencies (Government to Government). This award will be given to those government agencies that distinguish themselves in using ICT to provide eServices to other government agencies.
Category No. (4): is awarded for eLeadership. This award will be given to government agencies who achieved the top three positions in the “eTransformation Measurement”, which is implemented by Yesser each year. Category No. (5): is assigned to Community eParticipation. It is recognizes those government entities that consider and use suggestions and recommendations by the consumers (public, private or government) through ICT tools to improve their services and/or consider it during the development of policies and regulations. Category No.(6): Services through Smart Devices. This award recognizes government entities providing access to government information or services through smart devices or mobile apps. Lastly is the eParticipation category. It is open to the public for contributing creative and innovative ideas which may improve the quality of government e-services.
Noteworthy, Enjaz 2012 is the second edition of the award. The first edition of Enjaz had More than 150 projects from government agencies and individuals contested. A total of 15 government agencies have won in government related categories and 3 individual competitors have won the eParticipation category award.
