Lebanese President confers high honour on Raja Trad and Joseph Ghossoub for their service

Lebanon: Thursday, April 29 - 2004 @ 12:47

On receiving this honour, Raja Trad, chief executive officer, Leo Burnett Middle East and North Africa Group of Companies, and Joseph Ghossoub, chief executive officer, TEAM/Young & Rubicam, said: “We would like to express our tremendous thanks to President Emile Lahoud. Although these Orders are a source of personal pride and a recognition of the corporate work we pursue through our companies operating across the Middle East and North Africa, they also honour all Lebanese working outside the country to enhance the standing of Lebanon and raise standards in the field of communications and advertising through high level professionalism and creative excellence.”

“Credit for these honours also goes to the authorities in Dubai, especially His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Media Foundation. Dubai’s leaders have placed great trust in us and have provided us all with an ideal environment in which to operate, produce and prosper. We consider this honour to be an acknowledgement of all that Dubai and the United Arab Emirates have offered us,” they continued.

“Advertising is a sign of development and delivers an important economic benefit to our societies, while also providing a transparent revenue source to the media, which as a result can rise higher and grow stronger.” The two honourees pointed to “the important role that the advertising industry – in cooperation with the major institutions and companies operating in the country – plays in the UAE economy. Likewise, this industry serves the Lebanese economy by providing work opportunities for a large number of Lebanese professionals with creative, managerial and media capabilities.”

In conclusion, they said: “We will endeavour to meet the challenges and responsibilities before us and to persevere in working to support the regional economy, enhance our competitive capabilities and develop our human resources.”
