In recognition of the strong market that has arisen from the region’s economic upturn, Leo Burnett MENA has announced a renewed focus on driving growth across the Middle East. Effective April 1 2014, Jean Traboulsi will head the Group’s growth strategy as Regional New Business Director, overseeing business potential in the UAE, Kuwait, and the Lower Gulf region.

In light of the newly-announced strategy, Kamal Dimachkie, Executive Regional Managing Director for Leo Burnett UAE, Kuwait and the Lower Gulf, will take full control of the Leo Burnett UAE operation, in addition to his responsibility to Kuwait and the Lower Gulf region. “There is no-one more suited to expanding Leo Burnett’s reach across the region than Jean. As his attentions are refocused on acquiring new business, Leo Burnett will have the opportunity to further expand its already sizeable regional portfolio. This is an exciting move for us all.”
Speaking of his new position, Traboulsi said: “After more than two decades within Leo Burnett, and having driven the success of the Dubai office in recent years, it is a tremendous opportunity to turn my understanding of the Group and industry to extend our reach across the region. Economies across the GCC have picked up, opening up extensive prospects for new business – particularly in markets as exciting and dynamic as the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman. Traboulsi formerly held the position of Managing Director, Leo Burnett UAE, and has experience in several key aspects of the Group – including new business development in the UAE. He has worked with, influenced and led a wide spectrum of accounts throughout his time with Leo Burnett.
The strategic refocus comes at a time when Leo Burnett MENA is at its peak; the Group has had a strong start to 2014, including the recent win of 37 prestigious awards at the Dubai Lynx – 8 of which were Golds. Leo Burnett MENA was also named Network of the Year at the 2014 MENA Cristal Festival, in addition to winning a phenomenal 49 awards, including 3 Grand Prix and 10 Golds.
