LG Electronics keen to move forward despite recession

This event was attended by LGE’s business stakeholders for the entire region, including branch and subsidiary management, marketing members, distributors, dealers, and telecom operators.

LGE upholds a reputation for providing smart technology and stylish design coupled with astute marketing strategies, and this manifested itself in the 2008 regional marketing conference.

The two-day action-packed event was presided over by CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Company, Mr. K.W. Kim. Several informative and insightful presentations were given by company personnel from around the world, providing an enriching experience for the attendees and displaying a keen vision for the future. Key speakers also included LGE’s CMO Mr. Dermot Boden, CSCO Mr. Didier Chenneveau, and CGTMO Mr. Jim Shad.

In their addresses, LG’s management confirmed that the company has been rapidly growing in the MEA region by differentiated region-specific marketing, premium brand strategy and upbringing local talents. It achieved $3.9bn of sales in 2008, 22% more than that in 2007. Moreover, it enjoys the outstanding market position in several countries in the MEA region such as Nigeria, Jordan, Iraq, Morocco, Tunisia and Iran.

True to form, this annual marketing conference featured an award ceremony acknowledging and applauding outstanding marketing and sales efforts throughout the region. This year, awards went to two of LG Electronics’ Levant distributors: Dar El Ryan, LGE Levant AC distributor in Iraq (MEA Best Practice – Bronze Award) and Computer Echo (Marketing – Print Advertising – Golden Award), LGE Levant IT distributor in Lebanon.

Managing Director of LG Electronics Levant, Mr. Kevin Cha, expressed his gratification with the Levant distributors’ commendable overall accomplishments.

He, added:

“It is indeed a great honor for our partners Dar El Ryan and Computer Echo to be awarded on this pan-MEA level. I would also like to acknowledge the efforts of all of our partners in the Levant region who have throughout the years diligently supported our mutual business growth through intelligent, artful marketing that has consumer insight as its foundation.”

The annual event, which began in 1995, aims at sharing LG’s marketing and growth strategies with its partners, enhance its relationship with major dealers and shed light on newly introduced products to have a better understanding of the yearly marketing strategy.
