Lockheed Martin supports U.S. Department Of Commerce cyber security trade mission to Saudi Arabia And Kuwait

Saudi Arabia: Monday, September 30 - 2013 @ 00:00

“I’m proud to have Lockheed Martin join me for this important trade mission focused on cyber security and critical infrastructure protection,” said Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade Francisco Sanchez. “Lockheed Martin offers the high-quality technology, products, and expertise that help public and private sector entities in these two critical trading partners achieve their specific cyber security and infrastructure protection goals.”

This trade mission advances President Obama’s National Export Initiative (NEI), which aims to double U.S. exports by the end of 2014, supporting economic and job growth. Saudi Arabia has prioritized increasing cyber defense and infrastructure protection and continues to invest heavily in these sectors, spending more than $9bn in 2012 to expand many of its airports. Kuwait has also proposed spending $28.2bn on infrastructure advancements.

“At Lockheed Martin, everything we do, every program we manage, has a cyber-thread running through it,” said Cliff Spier, Vice President with Lockheed Martin Information Systems and Global Solutions. “Based on expertise we gleaned from defending our own networks, our cyber solutions maximize the ability for any sector – defense, energy, education, or healthcare – to detect and respond to evolving cyber threats.”

Every day, organizations around the world are continually exposed to a full spectrum of tenacious, sophisticated and targeted cyber-attacks. Leveraging experience gained from protecting the Lockheed Martin network as well as the networks of our government and commercial partners, Lockheed Martin developed an Intelligence-Driven Defense™ approach that comprehensively defends networks from advanced threats. Placing special emphasis on intelligence analysis, characterization and prediction, Lockheed Martin’s sophisticated Intelligence-Driven Defense solutions evaluate the threat landscape and help avert attacks that could potentially harm networks and infrastructures.

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company that employs about 116,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration, and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products, and services. The Corporation’s net sales for 2012 were $47.2bn.
