Deira City Centre set up traditional tents where customers can relax and browse through Arabian perfumes, enjoy Arabic sweets, have local Emirati women create artistic henna designs, and peruse or buy heritage paintings and handmade items like blown glass or ladies accessories.
“Dubai is a cosmopolitan city. We have more than 180 nationalities living in harmony with each other. This Ramadan, the centre has revived Arabic customs and traditions associated with the holy month of Ramadan to promote cultural understanding amongst our diverse customers,” commented Fareed AbdelRahman, General Manager, Deira City Centre.
“In the true spirit of Ramadan, Deira City Centre has also partnered with Red Crescent to run a charity drive across the emirate where visitors can contribute items like clothes, toys and non-perishable foods that will be donated to charity.”
Deira City Centre is running a special promotion in their Jewellery Court until October 23rd, 2006, giving away gift vouchers. Customers spending a certain amount at any outlet in Deira City Centre will get a chance to win an AED 5000 gift voucher daily. The vouchers are redeemable at 33 Jewellery stores in the centre. “This month, 30 lucky winners will have the chance to sparkle, courtesy of Deira City Centre,” added AbdelRahman.
During Ramadan, the centre has also extended it shopping hours and will be open from 10 a.m. to 1a.m. to ensure that visitors get a chance to shop in leisure at the Deira City Centre. “We look forward to welcoming visitors and their families to shop at our 340 retail stores or spend the evening at our 47 international cuisine restaurants and cafes,” said AbdelRahman.
