“We are once again delighted to be a patron sponsor of the Dubai Shopping Festival” commented Sabra Thani, Corporate Communications Manager, Majid Al Futtaim Group at the press conference where H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Supreme Committee, unveiled DSF 2004’s sponsors.
“DSF has become a truly global event, which has been a prime factor in Dubai’s emergence as one of the world’s leading tourist destinations,” she added. “Deira City Centre is planning to host its biggest DSF event yet, with great sales and contests and exciting décor, which we are sure will contribute greatly to yet another hugely successful Festival.”
Deira City Centre remains one of the leading attractions for visitors to the Dubai Shopping Festival, with an estimated increase in traffic of more than 20% during the month long extravaganza. With the recent opening of the City Gate expansion, which has brought 24 more leading stores to the Mall, the number of visitors is once again expected to rise significantly.
“Majid Al Futtaim’s support of the Dubai government’s extensive marketing efforts goes beyond the sponsorship of the Dubai Shopping Festival,” added Thani. “We have recently started construction on Mall of the Emirates, one of the region’s most ambitious retail and leisure projects and the biggest shopping mall in the world outside North America.”
“When it opens in September 2005, Mall of the Emirates will become another landmark in Dubai, with over 350 shops and more than 2.4 million square feet of prime retail and leisure space,” she added. “The project will include the world’s biggest indoor ski resort using real snow and a 400-room, all suites hotel, which will attract visitors from all over the world.”
