Mapei also announced that it is the associate sponsor of the exhibition and also the inaugural 2010 CityBuild Awards for Excellence in Construction, which recognises the significant contributions of companies and individuals to the development of the construction sector worldwide. Primed to become one of the premier awards event in the regional construction industry, CityBuild Awards for Excellence in Construction, will honour its pioneering awardees during the CityBuild Abu Dhabi Construction Summit on April 19, 2010.
Laith Haboubi, Business Development Director, IBS-Mapei, said:
“Abu Dhabi has always been an important long-term market for Mapei’s innovative solutions, and our participation at CityBuild Abu Dhabi and our sponsorship of the 2010 CityBuild Awards for Excellence in Construction, reaffirm our commitment to this high-growth area. The event provides a perfect opportunity to meet and interact with visitors, allowing us to conduct a more detailed demonstration of the practical benefits and advantages of our products to new and potential clients. CityBuild Abu Dhabi also enables us to highlight our increasing portfolio of eco-friendly building solutions, which have placed us in a very strong position to address the new challenges in the construction sector of Abu Dhabi, particularly in line with the Abu Dhabi Plan 2030, that is geared towards establishing a more sustainable and clean society.”
“Being primarily an excellence-centred organisation has likewise helped Mapei strengthen its foothold in the quality-conscious Abu Dhabi market, as our clients here are becoming more aware of the value and impact of quality on durability and in minimising waste. In this regard, we are witnessing increasing demand for certain product categories that are used with newer methods of construction such as tiling adhesives onto building boards or in pre-fabricated construction, which are becoming increasingly popular. Moreover, our customers appreciate that our quality products are also backed up by a highly competent technical support group,” added Haboubi.
Abu Dhabi has been a key target market for Mapei, as the company has been contracted for a number of prestigious projects in the emirate such as Emirates Palace Hotel, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Al Gurm Resort, Capital Plaza, Fairmont Hotel, Yas Marina Hotel and two Rotana projects, just to name a few.
At CityBuild Abu Dhabi, Mapei will showcase over 150 products that have been recognised to contribute to LEED certification, and which comply with most other environmental and green building certification systems.
“We continue to invest heavily in local production facilities to reduce carbon footprint, whilst more acquisitions are in the pipeline that will ultimately improve our ability to cater to more specific requirements of our customers in Abu Dhabi and the rest of the UAE. Our new production facility in Dubai operates under strict environmental practices and uses highly efficient green technology such as state-of-the-art filtration systems, battery operated forklifts and wind and thermal-powered factory ventilation,” concluded Haboubi.
CityBuild Abu Dhabi is a new international trade exhibition for the building and construction industry. The event will bring together suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, importers and procurement decision makers from the construction and real estate industry.
