John Northen commented, “We are thrilled that the Amman Marriott Hotel has been recognized and honored with such a prestigious award. This was achieved as a result of the dedication and commitment of our hardworking staff that demonstrate the true Jordanian hospitality. This highlights how Jordan is one of the most welcoming, hospitable countries in the world with the most wonderfully gracious and friendly people.”
The Condé Nast Traveler readers’ choice poll was designed to determine the travel behavior and opinions of Condé Nast Traveler subscribers, based on their personal experiences in Hotels and other areas. The Condé Nast Traveler readers’ choice awards are the highest honor in the travel industry, and were handed out in an all-star ceremony at The Guggenheim Museum in New York City, hosted by Editor in Chief Tom Wallace. Celebrity presenters included: Oscar-winning actress Marcia Gay Harden, model Cindy Crawford and her husband; hotelier Rande Gerber, actress/model Rebecca Romin Stamos, actress Mariska Hargitay, actor Michael Imperioli, actor Chris Noth, actor Leiv Schreiber, actress Kim Raver, model Vendela, TV host Jules Asner, and New York Giants linebacker Dhani Jones.
Unlike many other travel publications, Condé Nast Traveler does not accept free travel and accommodations, and its correspondents, as far as possible, travel anonymously. The results are travels the way consumers experience it – good and bad, with reports that are fair and honest. Condé Nast Traveler is the only travel publication to have won a National Magazine Award, the highest honor in magazine publishing.
