Students of Dubai Women’s College to run meUNIVERSITY branch on campus

United Arab Emirates: Thursday, April 15 - 2004 @ 14:17

Earlier this year, meUNIVERSITY conducted a training seminar at the bank’s Global Training Centre for select students from the UAE’s top 6 universities, and offered student internships with meUNIVERSITY as Student Brand Representatives.

The aim of the training was to prepare the students for the competition by giving them a general understanding of basic banking products, how a bank works, as well as brand management and a specific training on meUNIVERSITY products and how to sell them.

Mr. Louis Scotto, General Manager Retail Banking Emirates Bank said: “The competition is part of our plan to educate undergraduates; we’re giving the students the chance to run a meBANK mini branch on campus, which is a great opportunity for them to step into the real world of banking. No other bank has gone that far before.”

These select students will run the branch and be involved in providing advice, selling products and opening accounts to other students and staff.

Dr. Howard Reed, President of Dubai Women’s College commented: “We appreciate Emirates Bank Group providing our students real world competitions and experience. These experiences compliment the HCT learning philosophy.”

meUNIVERSITY is a tailored package, from meBANK offering a selection of banking products, including a Student Current Account filled with benefits, Tuition Loans, Car Loans, Credit Cards, and for the first time, Computer Loans.
