Middle East Payment Services (MEPS) – a leading, innovative payment services provider in the Levant – has successfully attained the PCI Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) Compliance Certification and Attestation of Compliance (AoC) for the third consecutive year.
Published by the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC), the PCI DSS accreditation was granted to MEPS in recognition of its strict adherence to guidelines that safeguard consumers’ credit and debit card transactions through added reliability and security measures.
“Being granted this accreditation for the third consecutive year underscores our commitment to providing secure payment services that comply with top quality and efficiency standards, and to safeguarding payment card data globally,” commented MEPS Chairman, Dr. Abdel Malek Jaber.
MEPS Deputy CEO for Technical and Operations and Primary Representative for MEPS on the PCI SSC Board of Advisors, Izdehar Safarini, stated, “This accomplishment further cements our pioneering market standing and helps facilitate the delivery of high quality, secure, trusted and efficient products to the local and regional markets, subsequently protecting consumer interests, enhancing data security and maintaining top standards within the payment industry.”
UK-based vulnerability management services provider, RandomStorm Ltd., offered MEPS a comprehensive range of its advanced scanning, monitoring, alerting and remediation consultancy services, all of which aided MEPS in completing and receiving the PCI DSS certification.
Endorsed by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Incorporation, the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) requires merchants and service providers that store, process or transmit customer payment card data to adhere to information security controls and processes that ensure data protection.
To enhance payment data security globally while embracing new technologies as they are developed, the PCI SSC relies on the involvement of entities across the payments processing chain, from merchants and service providers to payment device manufacturers and software developers, financial institutions and processors.
