Oman’s social development ministry has said eight to 10 nurseries are being temporarily suspended or permanently shut down by the ministry for violation of rules and regulations each month on an average, Times of Oman has reported. “Most of these nurseries are being run in homes, and they do not have proper, healthy environment for such an activity,” a senior ministry official was quoted as saying by the daily. The most rampant violation by these nurseries is ignoring the age limit set for the admission of children, the official said. According to the rules, children between the age of three months and three-and-a-half months can be admitted without special permission from the authorities.
