Oman’s Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority (SEZAD), in cooperation with the higher education ministry, has announced it is to provide scholarships to 10 students from the wilayat, Muscat Daily has reported. The students will get sponsorship for their courses at the Sultan Qaboos University from the next year. “Scholarships will be provided for three seats in civil engineering, two each in engineering (quantity surveying), law and accountancy and one in marketing, said chairman of committee of community development and executive vice president of SEZAD, Ismail bin Ahmed al Balushi. “The fees of the students will be borne by us. We are not here only for business, but our aim is to raise the level of education among people.”
