10th Annual HSE Forum in Energy draws strong support from key organisations

: Wednesday, September 03 - 2014 @ 13:52

The tremendous importance of health, safety and environment (HSE), specifically in the energy sector, has encouraged key public and private organisations to pro-actively throw its all-out support behind the 10th Annual HSE Forum in Energy.

Organised by Fleming Gulf – organisers of market-leading summits across the GCC – the conference supported exhibition is scheduled to take place on 3-5 November 2014 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Qatar.

“Workforce, capital, Government policies and brand image are the four main reasons why all parties must take responsibility for Health, Safety and Environment concerns, particularly in a high risk workplace as the oil, gas and energy sector,” said John Paul, Business Development Director at Fleming Gulf FZE. “The fast-paced and rapid development in the global economy as well as in the State of Qatar, have provided the impetus for every HSE stakeholder to act together and improve standards, protect lives and prevent unnecessary injury in workplaces.

“For this reason, we are extremely grateful and honored to have the backing of key international HSE bodies and regulators, as well as the partnership and sponsorship of key business organisations that have huge roles to play in further enhancing HSE standards and policies,” he added. “As the event draws closer, we hope that more public and private institutions and business enterprises will jump in and work closely together to help fulfill this year’s event objectives under the main theme of ‘Reinventing HSE DNA’.”

Petrotechnics, the event’s Strategic Partner, is a scalable solutions and tools provider that empowers organisations in hazardous industries – from the boardroom to the frontline – to proactively manage the organisation to a less risky and more optimised performance. By empowering structured decision making, Petrotechnics helps improve competencies and capabilities to proactively balance workload against risk and enhance overall performance.

The event’s two Gold Sponsors are Chemsafe – one of the best independent consultancy companies in Europe for registration of Agrochemicals, Biocides, Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Pharmaceutical products – and Cresent – a Control of Work provider for oil and gas operations around the world.

Meanwhile, Qatar Petroleum, which together with the Qatar Ministry of Interior, have established the Ras Laffan Emergency and Safety College (RLESC) to deliver professional Emergency, Safety and HSE training courses in Qatar and the region, is the event’s Silver Sponsor.

On the other hand, BST – a DEKRA company and a global safety consulting firm that helps companies at any stage of safety functioning improve performance – is the event’s Official Behavioural Safety Partner, while International SOS – the world’s leading medical and travel security risk services company operating from over 700 sites in 76 countries with 10,000 employees, led by 1,200 physicians and 200 security specialists – is an Associate Sponsor.

Other sponsors of the event include Vigilas – a consultancy firm that provides expert lesson planning, training and personal coaching in investigative skills – and Enablon – the world’s leading provider of Sustainability, EH&S and Operational Risk Management Software.

The 10th Annual HSE Forum in Energy also has the endorsement of global associations such as ASSE, BOHS, NEBOSH, the British Safety Council, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), with several more to come.
