Saudi Aramco may get the official nod to enter the Mexican energy market, Saudi Gazette has reported. Three senior Mexican diplomats hinted the possibility of allowing the giant state-run oil company to join the list of oil majors seeking a stake in the development of the Central American country’s energy sector, the report said. Mexico has proven and probable reserves amounting to 26 billion barrels of oil equivalent, and total reserves are estimated at 44.5 billion barrels. However, the country’s output has been on the decline over the last few years, dropping to 2.5 million bpd.
