The Abu Dhabi market index ADXGI crossed the level at 5,000 points on Thursday, July 17, as the gauge closed 0.96 per cent higher at 5,033.18 points. GCC markets advanced despite weak input from bourses in East Asia and Europe in the wake of increased diplomatic tensions between Russia and the USA due to the ongoing crisis in eastern Ukraine.
Dana Gas lost 2.53 per cent to reach AED0.77. Earlier on Wednesday, the government of Iraq’s autonomous region of Kurdistan denied claims made by Dana Gas that a London tribunal had granted the Sharjah-based firm the right to obtain pending payments from the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG), ekurd.net reported. Dana filed a case at the London Court of International Arbitration in Oct. 2013 against the KRG for allegedly outstanding payments.
