Egypt to add 17 new wells to natural gas grid

Egyptian oil ministry has announced plans to add 17 new natural gas wells to its production grid in an attempt to increase the daily production of gas by nearly one billion cubic feet, Ahram has reported. Drilling is set to commence in September and is expected to cost $2.4bn. The ministry forecasts total natural gas production to increase 1.7% to 5.4 billion cubic feet per day in the coming fiscal year 2014/15, while consumption is projected to increase 12.5% to 5.57 billion cubic feet per day in the same period.
