Iraq aims to boost output to 4.7m bpd next year

Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister for Energy, Hussain Al-Shahristani has said the government plans to reach oil production capacity of 4.7 million barrels per day (bpd) next year, and has already surpassed three million bpd, Reuters has reported. The long-term plan is to raise production to nine million bpd by 2020 and sustain that rate over 20 years, he said.
