Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) will host The 2nd Arab Water Conference titled “Towards smart management for the water sector in the Arab region through innovative and sustainable solutions to face the rising challenges” from the 27th to the 29th of May 2014 in Sheraton Resort & Convention, Qatar. The announcement was made during a press conference held on 3 March 2014 at Sheraton Resort & Convention, Qatar.
The 2nd Arab Water Conference & Exhibition 2014 is held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. The second version of the conference is hosted by Kahramaa in cooperation with the Arab Water Council.
The 2nd Arab Water Conference & Exhibition 2014 is expected to attract high level presence from across over 22 Arab countries representing North Africa and the Middle East. These will include Arab Ministers of Water and Environment, heads of delegations, decision-makers, senior officials, water experts and researchers who will meet to discuss water issues and challenges in the Arab countries. With water conservation becoming of increasing importance in the region, the conference will provide a platform to help reach a common understanding of what is required to address water scarcity and methods of sustainable management of water resources.
H.E Eng Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari, President of Kahramaa expressed his delight to be hosting The 2nd Arab Water Conference & Exhibition 2014, “We are extremely proud to be hosting the 2nd Arab Water conference & Exhibition 2014. The three-day conference will provide an excellent opportunity to coordinate between the member countries, and unify efforts in order to face the challenges related to the Arab water rights. Attendees will have the opportunity to exchange expertise around the methods and modern techniques used in planning and national strategies on the medium and long term in the field of water management. They will also discuss how to enhance the ideology of water security within the Arab countries to serve the development demands of Arab nations.
