Kuwait has decided to abolish diesel subsidies, saying it was not properly consumed in gas stations, Kuna has reported. The cabinet approved in principle a recommendation by a committee, formed to study state subsidies for goods and services, to stop subsidy for diesel. The subsidy was lifted because the targeted consumers were not using the diesel properly, which subjects the commodity to abuse for other purposes, it said. The cabinet will suspend provision of subsidy pending a study by the higher planning and development council, which would address negative impacts resulted from the lifting of subsidy, it said.
