Nebras Power to acquire a 35% stake in a new 52.5MW solar power plant being built in Jordan, Construction Week Online reported. The firm has invested alongside Diamond Generating Europe – a subsidiary of Mitsubishi which also has a 35% stake – and Jordan-based Kanwar Group (30%). The consortium will finance, build and operate the plant and has a 20-year deal in place to supply Jordan’s National Electric Power Co (NEPCO) for the plant’s entire output. The project is part of an initiative by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to generate 850MW of renewable energy per year and is one of the first to come online. It will also be the largest of its kind in the Kingdom.
