Oman to phase out Qatari gas imports

The Omani oil and gas ministry has unveiled plans to phase out imports of Qatari gas supplied via the Dolphin network once a projected jump in domestic gas production is deemed sufficient enough to meet demand, Oman Daily Observer has reported. Imports of natural gas via the Dolphin network, which average 5-7 million standard cubic metres per day (mmscmd), represent just a small percentage of the total domestic production of around 85 mmscmd, said the ministry’s under-secretary, Salim al Aufi.
