The QE 20 Index gained 0.85 per cent to close at 13,100 points on Tuesday, July 15, representing a five-week high.
Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) advanced the most, ending 5.42 per cent higher at QAR107. On Monday, QIB said the net profit for the first half-year grew by 15 per cent to reach QAR725 million ($195.75 million).
Qatar Electricity and Water lost the most, finishing 1.72 per cent lower at QAR189.
The firm said its reviewed financial statements for the period ending June 30, 2014 revealed a net profit of QAR716 million ($193.32 million) in comparison to QAR637 million ($172 million) for the same period last year.
