The Qatar Exchange 20 Index gained for the third day straight, closing 0.85 per cent higher at 13,100 points on Wednesday, July 16.
Qatar Gas Transport Company Limited, also known as Nakilat, surged 3.70 per cent to hit QAR23.95.
Earlier in the day, Nakilat announced its financial results for the first half of 2014, where the Company’s net profit reached QAR446 million ($120.42 million), with an increase of 24 per cent year on year.
The country’s biggest lender Qatar National Bank or QNB added 0.06 per cent to hit QAR178.
“We like the stability of earnings and QNB is one of our top picks in this region“, said Arjuna Mahendran, the chief investment officer for wealth management at Emirates NBD.
