Siemens, the global powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering operating in the energy, infrastructure, industry and healthcare sectors, will present a range of technologies aimed at efficiency and sustainability at this year’s Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) 2014 in Dubai.
Among the Siemens innovations being showcased is the company’s Siestorage electrical energy storage system. This modular solution can integrate renewable energy sources and optimize the use of fossil fuels in power generation, ensuring a reliable power supply during peaks in electricity demand. Siemens will also be showcasing its smart grid technology through a live demonstration that will underline the efficiency and environmental gains that a smarter power grid can offer.
Visitors to the stand will also be able to meet with technical specialists from Siemens to learn more about the company’s gas-insulated switchgears, which provide exceptional advantages in respect of climatic independence, personal safety and maintenance-free design.
Siemens, a platinum sponsor of WETEX, will also be presenting its wet compression solution, which allows power plants to increase the output and efficiency of gas turbines through the use of water injection. An ideal technology for use in places with high ambient temperatures wet compression can, depending on the infrastructure in place and operational requirements, realize a power increase of up to 25 megawatts (MW). It is currently installed at DEWA’s Jebel Ali power station in Dubai.
WETEX 2014 will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre between 14th and 16th April, and focuses on renewable energy and sustainable solutions.
