Two Omani energy firms ‘likely’ to float IPOs by mid-2014

Oman’s Capital Market Authority (CMA) is set to grant its approval for initial public offerings (IPOs) by two energy companies in the first half of 2014, Muscat Daily has reported. The market regulator had initiated necessary steps with Al Sawadi Energy and Al Batinah Energy, expecting the IPOs of both to be underwritten in the first half of 2014. The issue size of both companies is expected to be over OR20m, said Ahmed al Qasabi, head of the CMA’s directorate general of issuance and disclosure.
