World Eco Energy to invest $1.18bn in Iran

US-based World Eco Energy has announced the signing of a preliminary agreement to invest $1.175bn in Iran in a joint commercial project to turn rubbish and human waste into electricity, AFP has reported. The firm said it plans to produce 250 megawatts daily by burning trash and by processing algae, salt and waste water into power. The project in the south-western province of Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari is scheduled to start in September 2014, it said.
