‘Shrink-A-Bottle’ campaign at the Al Ain Aerobatic Show

United Arab Emirates: Sunday, February 01 - 2009 @ 10:23

The device reduces the size of the PET bottle by 80-90 per cent. Under this exciting environmental drive, all spectators are being given a complimentary Al Ain Water bottle upon entry to the show, which if later taken to the company’s ‘Shrink-a-Bottle’ booth for recycling, will be exchanged for another bottle of water.

Zoltan Veres, the four times Guinness World Record Holder and two-time Aero GP champion, today also became a part of the Al Ain Mineral Water Company’s campaign against PET waste, and will contribute to it as a socially responsible participant.

“I encourage all the spectators to visit the Al Ain Mineral Water exhibition stand, and see for themselves one of the simplest yet most effective ways to recycle PET – even a child can do it,” said Zoltán. Zoltán Veres is one of the most colourful names in European aviation, with more than 14,000 flying hours in around 110 aircrafts.

Mr. Fasahat Beg, General Manager – Al Ain Mineral Water Company, said:

“This initiative is aimed at educating the general public upon the need to recycle PET bottles in the UAE, and particularly reduce the huge quantity of PET waste emerging out of large scale events such as these. With more than 125,000 spectators from 40 countries, here to witness the spectacle of the Al Ain Aerobatic Show, we look at reinforcing an environment friendly approach to this event.”

The Al Ain Aerobatic Show has been chosen as a venue to launch the ‘Shrink-A-Bottle’ campaign as it offers a unique, community driven platform with a wide reach and huge visitor interest.

“We will be able to use this great event to spread the message of responsible PET usage and recycling in a simple, straightforward manner. As a local company based in Al Ain, we share a part of this responsibility-what better way to contribute to our community than extend our water expertise and environmental focus to benefit our urban environment directly!”, added Fasahat Beg.
