Mario Arjan, General Manger, Wellmark UAE, said: “The decision to make it an annual event was based on the success of the show which added a touch of art, magic and glory to fashions. The Dubai Fashion and Diamonds Show featured some of the most renowned names in the Asian fashion industry, making it a memorable celebration of Asian designs.”
He added that each year the event will be held under different themes featuring designers from all over the world. This year’s show featured exclusive haute couture and bridal collections from top Asian designers under theme, “Asia – Celebration of Art.”
Arjan praised the great support the event witnessed from all its partners and internationally acclaimed designers from the jewellery capitals of the world including De Beers, Leon Hatot, Balve High Tech Safe, Prestige Gallery, House of Baguette, Frojo de St. Tropez. Several international names such as Carita Paris, Georgio Armani Cosmetics and Porsche Middle East had a strong presence on the event.
The event was held for the first time this year under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Manal Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, wife of H.H. Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Presidential affairs and President of Dubai Establishment for Women Development.
The glittering event was inaugurated at the Burj Al Arab by Her Highness, in the presence of royalties and VIPs from GCC countries. The show concluded its activities at the Dubai Ladies Club where members praised the unique theme of the event.
The show featured the ornately beautiful haute couture and bridal collections of Yumi Katsura, Ashima-Leena Singh and Bonita Cheung, three of Asia’s biggest haute-couture designers.
