The event is jointly organised by Environmental Research and Wildlife Development Agency (ERWDA) and the General Exhibitions Corporation (GEC) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
“The conference theme “Sustainable Transportation in Developing Countries” marks the first part of a chain of international activities to promote sustainable transportation in developing countries. The Conference will contribute to the promotion and awareness of environmentally sustainable transportation (EST) and its linkages to socio-economic, health and environmental issues. It aims to establish a consensus on principles and guidelines for environmentally sustainable transportation”, said Mr. Majid Al Mansouri, Secretary General of ERWDA and Chairman of the Conference Scientific Committee.
Five Pre-Conference Workshops related to the main theme of the Conference, will be held on January 29, 2005, at Abu Dhabi’s newest landmark, the Emirates Palace; followed by the Opening Ceremony and the Conference Sessions and Exhibition from January 30, 2005 to February 2, 2005, at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre (ADIEC).
Throughout the Conference scientific sessions, which will start on 30th January and continue till 2nd February, a total of 83 experts will be presenting their experience and views on sustainable transportation.
Environment, Health and Transport Ministers, advisors, key decision-makers, scientists, technical experts, environment, health, transportation and energy experts, government and intergovernmental officials, planners, vehicle manufacturers, energy producers, vendors and service providers, bankers, financiers and representatives of non-governmental organizations, are expected to attend this important conference.
The Exhibition will feature the latest developments in diverse areas such as Management of Water, Land, Air, Energy & Wastes, Environmental Research, Science & Technology, Environment Friendly Transportation, as well as related areas like Environmental Finance, Legal Consulting, etc.
This Exhibition aims to provide strategic solutions to environmental issues to a wide range of local, regional and international municipalities, water and electricity authorities, oil companies as well as environmental institutions.
