22nd Jewellery and Watch Show opens in Abu Dhabi

The much-awaited 22nd International Jewellery and Watch Show (JWS) opens in Abu Dhabi tomorrow (13 March, Thursday). The event is being held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) until 17 March 2014 from 4pm to 10pm daily at Halls 1, 2, 3 and 4. It offers exclusive timings for ladies from 11am to 4pm on Sunday 16 March 2014.

Over 190 renowned exhibitors and brands from across the globe are set to wow the UAE’s jewellery lovers with their exquisite gemstone, diamond, gold and silver jewellery.

Raya Dandal, JWS Show Manager at Reed Exhibitions, said, “The continued success of Jewellery and Watch Show has been encouraging and we are very excited about this year’s show. New designs and collections; more brands and exhibitors; exciting raffle prizes and an informative line-up of jewellery seminars – is a very promising mix that is bound to offer every visitor something that will have them gleaming and sparkling, literally.”

She added, “The majority of our exhibitors and brands this year consist of top names from the UAE, Lebanon, Italy, Hong Kong and India. We look forward to offering our guests the finest in jewellery and watches.”

The winners of the EBDA’A Award, which was launched last year to encourage nationals with artistic interests to bring forth their creativity in jewellery designing, will be announced at the show on 14 March at 6:30 pm. The participants will be judged by a panel that includes jewellery design icons including Azza Al Qubaisi, Muna Al-Hadad, Maha Al-Sebai, and Rafif Tarabishi.

Added attraction to the show includes a raffle draw and a chance for every visitor to win a brand new Fiat 500 car, sponsored by Western Motors LLC, authorized distributor of Jeep & Fiat in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

Upon purchasing the admission ticket for AED 25, visitors will also stand a chance to win other exciting prizes, including diamond jewellery set from Mohammed Rasool Khoory & Sons, Rotana hotel stay, branded watches and much more.

JWS will also include complimentary interactive seminar sessions for visitors conducted by experienced representatives from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in Hall 1 to cover a range of topics that aim to benefit both consumers and traders. The topics will include sessions on how to distinguish diamonds and gemstones, seven value factors of pearls, synthetic diamonds and many more.
