OPEC gives its full support to Offshore Arabia 2010 and participates in its fifth edition

This was confirmed during the meeting of Mr. khamis juma Bu amim Chief Executive of the regional Clean Sea organization RECSO) and Chairman of offshore Arabia and Mr. Abdulsalam al Madani, the President of Index Holding, with HE Abdullah Salem Al-Badri, Secretary General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries “OPEC” in the Austrian capital Vienna, where he received the final report and the shield of offshore Arabia 2009 as a gratitude of thanks for the support and excellent contribution of “OPEC” to this regional and international conference over the past 5 years.

Mr. AlBadri confirmed, “OPEC” support and participation on the upcoming offshore Arabia conference and Exhibition 2010 and the importance of such gathering in the oil and gas industry and the protection of energy and environment. The organization will also promote the event within its members. The event is scheduled to be held between 29th and 31st March 2010 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Mr. Khamis Juma Bu-Amim said:

“The unlimited support given by all national and international bodies and companies, institutions and authorities to Offshore Arabia Conference and Exhibition establishes the importance of this specialized kind of conferences. Offshore Arabia Conference and Exhibition 2010 will be held under the theme “Global Partners for Energy and Environment – Change and Challenges 2010″.”

When it comes to energy, climate change, ecosystems and the environment. Resources are stretched beyond their means by the increase of human activities and their ever expanding needs. As for the Gulf region, the real challenge we face is the sustainability of the Gulf waters, which in turn sustain us today. The management of resources and protection of the environment and especially the marine environment is a vital part and a question of existence for the future generations. Living within our means should be a strategic issue; we can not continue to ignore the crucial importance of sustainable development to the economies of the regions.

Offshore Arabia 2010 is a scientific, social, and economic event that addresses a number of pressing and dividing issues from a scientific perspective to the best practices and solutions for the benefit of energy and environment.

With special attention to the oil industry and energy sectors be it fossil fuelled or renewable, tankers and shipping industry, road transport and offshore installations, environment and sustainable economic development.

This forum provides an ideal platform for the latest developments and challenges in addition to the opportunity it provides for the submission of latest studies and knowledge and the most important observations and ideas in the field of energy and environment and sustainability.
