As part of their commitment to bring cutting-edge technology to car enthusiasts, Alfardan Sports Motors, official importer of Ferrari in Qatar, launched The Ferrari 458 Speciale in a special evening for media and guests.
The 458 Speciale features Ferrari’s core philosophy of extreme technological innovation and is a completely unique model designed for owners looking for an even more focused sports car offering extreme driving emotions. Technical innovation for this model spans the entire car, with particular regard to active aerodynamics, the engine and vehicle dynamic advances.
“Ferrari has deeply set its roots in motorsport and is investing extensively in innovations and technologies that make drivers feel at one, whether on the road or on the track. The 458 Speciale is one of the most powerful roadworthy naturally aspirated V8 engines ever produced and it certainly lives up to its name. I’m confident our clients will be astounded by its power and finesse,” commented Mr. Giulio Zauner, General Manager, Ferrari Middle East and Africa.
The Ferrari 458 Speciale was crowned “Super Car of the Year” and “Car of the Year” from Top Gear, one of the most authoritative motoring magazines in the world, that brings the total number of awards Ferrari has had to thirteen in eleven years.
“The automotive sector is one of the most dynamic and innovation driven business sectors in Qatar. Luxury cars have seen robust growth last year and we expect it to continue. Owning a Ferrari is definitely an ultimate lifetime dream that suits everyone who admires the sporty luxury. I’m positive the 458 Speciale will be taking off in Qatar at lightning speed,” commented Mr. Mohamed Kandeel, General Manager of Alfardan Sports Motors.
Flanked in the Maranello marque’s range by the multi-award-winning 458 Italia and 458 Spider, the new mid-rear-engined V8 berlinetta was designed to boost both performance and driving emotion to unprecedented levels, yet simultaneously guarantee smooth, effortless control in all kinds of situations. The 458 Speciale is the most powerful 458 to date at 596hp and 540Nm of torque and an exceptional weight/power ratio of just 2.13 kg/cv. The 458 Speciale can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 3.0” (0-200 km/h in 9.1”) and also clocked a lap time of just 1’23”5 at the Fiorano Circuit.
The most significant improvement in the 458 Speciale is probably the active aerodynamics that balance down-force and reduce drag. Attention to aesthetics was not forgotten, as the Ferrari Styling Centre also was involved in the aerodynamics development.
The technology used in the vehicle dynamics subsystems which gives the driver instant confidence and control at high speeds, natural power over steer management and precise response to commands are further advances in an area in which Ferrari is already a well-established leader.
Side Slip angle Control (SSC) is another feature that makes it easier to control the 458 Speciale at the limit and improves driving emotions. The SSC provides continuous readings of the car’s side slip, and utilizes traction control and torque vectoring to control it
Utilising braking solutions from the LaFerrari, the 458 Speciale is fitted with Extreme Designs callipers, new brake rotors and pads with improved heat dissipation. The Speciale is also fitted with 245/35 ZR20 9J (front) and 305/30 ZR20 11J (rear) wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tyres, which makes it wider over the Italia’s 235/35 ZR20 8.5J (front) and 295/35 ZR20 10.5J, for much better traction.
The 458 Speciale stands out with its exceptional aerodynamics, forceful engine, and swift electric controls that give it a uniquely outstanding presence. Ferrari is constantly offering advanced technology and providing car enthusiasts all over the world the opportunity to drive with a multitude of emotions.
