Dr Ali Abdulqader, The Managing Director of Al Hikma Company has announced that there has been a 35% increase in sales of skincare products in July, compared to the average monthly increase in the first half of 2014, Zawya reported. Dr Ali attributed this increase to high demand triggered by the extreme summer heat and humidity. Dubai-based Al Hikma reports that the skincare segment, along with cosmetics, figures on top of women’s priority list in the Gulf region, due to heightened awareness of the long-term benefits of using such products. Dr. Abdulqader said that organic and natural products enjoy a higher preference among Gulf customers, due to higher spending power in this part of the world, which enables them to move away from chemical skincare solutions. Dr. Abdulqader added: “UAE customers understand the importance of putting quality over price, and this contributes to the growth of this sector. “
