The Dubai Financial Market General Index (DFMGI) advanced by 2.17 per cent to close at 5,214.25 points on Tuesday, May 13.
Arabtec was the share of the day, as the UAE’s first construction firm gained 11.65 per cent to hit AED7.38. Developer Emaar gained three per cent to reach AED10.30.
Emaar rivals Union Properties (UPP) and Islamic developer Deyaar lost 1.94 per cent and 1.27 per cent, respectively. Trading volumes surged, as complacency about the rally returned to the Dubai floor, with 890 million shares worth AED2.997 billion having changed hands.
