Over 90 international and regional drainage, sewage, flood control and dam construction experts will join key representatives from Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, Muscat Municipality, Haya Water, National Survey Authority – Ministry of Defence, Oman Water Society at the first annual Drainage Rehabilitation and Flood Control conference on the 1st and 2nd of September at Golden Tulip Seeb Hotel in Muscat.
The main theme of the conference is “Overcoming the water floods across the Sultanate through efficient drainage networks”. The conference will explore several sub-themes which include: analysing the current and future drainage systems and networks, flood control and dam construction projects in Oman, Flood risk assessment and identifying potential flooding areas, Learning from regional and international best practice case studies on implementing a sustainable drainage infrastructure, Understanding the latest flood control techniques and strategies and Planning, maintaining and enhancing flood protection systems.
The conference includes presentations from local authorities such as Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, Muscat Municipality, Haya Water, National Survey Authority – Ministry of Defence Oman, Oman Water Society and international authorities such as Ministry of Works-Kingdom of Bahrain, Abu Dhabi Municipality, UNESCO, Iranian National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage, Egyptian National Committee on Irrigation and Drainage (ENCID) and many more.
