Dubai Trade, the premier cross-border trade facilitator, and RSA, a leading provider of insurance services in the UAE; signed an agreement to join ‘Tradeshield’ the online cargo insurance platform.

According to the agreement, RSA has been integrated with Dubai Trade’s insurance platform to provide its e-Cargo insurance services to the trade and logistics community and contribute to making it simpler and convenient for Tradeshield customers to choose leading insurance providers for cargo insurance online. The agreement was signed by Dubai Trade CEO Eng. Mahmood Al Bastaki, and RSA UAE CEO Mr. Chris Dooley in the presence of both parties officials.

Eng. Mahmood Al Bastaki, CEO of Dubai Trade, said: “We are constantly working on enhancing Tradeshield by tying up with premium partners to create a true one-stop-shop for all shipping related services. Tradeshield is a complete electronic transaction where our customers can choose the insurance provider and get real time quotations immediately and pay using our online secured payment gateway ‘Rosoom’. Having RSA onboard ensures our customers have world-class insurance for their shipping worldwide.”

Commenting on the agreement, Chris Dooley, UAE & Bahrain CEO for RSA Insurance, said: “At RSA, we are continually looking to expand the quality of coverage we offer our clients by innovating products and growing partnerships to make our services more easily accessible. Our new tie-up with Dubai Trade is yet another step in this endeavour and it will help us in meeting the insurance needs of the vital trade and logistics industry in the UAE. We are particularly pleased to support this community as it has been instrumental in supporting Dubai’s economic growth, and we look forward to further strengthening our relationships with this sector in the coming years.”

Dubai Trade e-Services are on continuous growth curve, and are developed based on customer’ need captured through regular follow-ups and direct client visits to obtain feedback and suggestions to develop new interactive online services or enhance the available services. ‘Tradeshield’ initiated recently by Dubai Trade after witnessing the substantial growth in demand on cargo insurance services throughout the years. It is a state-of-the-art platform online service for cargo shipments allowing customers to complete the end-to-end process of purchasing insurance online, through the dedicated website www.tradeshield.ae.

Tradeshield currently works with single shipment cargo insurance that provides cover against loss or damage to all goods related to a single shipment and will soon offer open cover cargo insurance to provide blanket cover against loss or damage to all goods transported by a specific carrier or shipper during a certain period of time.
