InterContinental Regency Bahrain, in partnership with the Bahrain Diabetes Society (BDS) has held healthy lifestyle program for diabetic kids, in support of the society’s goal to increase awareness on the prevention and control of diabetes in the Kingdom, TradeArabia reported. Mohammed Sanad, executive assistant manager of InterContinental Regency Bahrain, said: “Supporting organisations like the Bahrain Diabetes Society forms an integral part of the Hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility where we reach out to the local communities in the Kingdom, aiding their essential work that contributes much to society. Our objective is to increase awareness of diabetes and how to manage it efficiently. We believe that regular physical activities and healthy cooking for children, will definitely lead to better management and even prevention of diabetes”. The programme aims to reinforce the need to maintain healthy lifestyles through proper dietary habits and regular physical activities as well as stresses the importance of adapting this lifestyle beginning from early childhood.
