Iran stated that its auto output has raised 73.4% in H1, the figure indicates a 73.4% growth compared with the corresponding period of last year, which was 232,993, IRNA reported. Iran manufactured 404,010 vehicles during March 21-August 22, 2014, IRAN Daily. In this period, 345,217 sedans were produced, up by 74.3% year-on-year. Last year’s figure was 198,059. The production of Nasim and Saba Prides, Pars Peugeot, Peugeot 405, Peugeot 206, MVM, Samand, Logan and Tiba amounted to 75,863, 64,695, 39,475, 33,962, 15,981, 37,011, 15,638 and 28,648 respectively. In the said time-span, 21,096 hybrid Nasim and Saba Prides, 12,619 Runna and 9,746 Renault products were manufactured. Iranian auto companies also produced 54,629 vans, 4,060 trucks, 77 buses and 27 minibuses during March 21-August 22, 2014. Automotive industry is the second-most productive industry of Iran, after oil and gas, accounting for 10% of the country’s gross domestic product.
