He has also advised on a number of high profile mergers and acquisitions and privatization matters in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the UAE.

Al-Louzi represents a number of global and Middle East banks, investment banks, regional private equity firms and leading Saudi Arabian family businesses with extensive business interests. He has deep knowledge of the financial services, securities infrastructure, healthcare and telecommunications sectors in the Middle East, particularly in Saudi Arabia and the UAE.

Salman Al-Sudairi, Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins in Riyadh, commented: “We are delighted that Sami has decided to join our team. Sami has a well-earned reputation for his diligence, legal skills and sound business judgment. He is a strong practice builder and he will be a great asset to our clients.”

“Over the years, Sami has developed excellent relationships in the region. His arrival further strengthens our practice in the Middle East, including our focus on advising emerging regional companies on a wide range of corporate matters. Sami is a new addition to our group of Arabic speaking and highly accomplished partners in the UAE and his depth of experience, knowledge and relationships confirm his standing in the legal community,” added Villiers Terblanche, Office Managing Partner of Latham & Watkins’ Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha offices.

“There’s a lot of energy and dynamism in the Middle East and market forces point to a resurgent equity capital markets and M&A in the region. Latham’s integrated platform and deep practice position the firm well to respond to the increasingly more sophisticated and cross-border legal needs of companies and financial institutions in the region,” said Al-Louzi.

Al-Louzi joins Latham & Watkins from Vinson & Elkins. He graduated from the University of Jordan in 1993 and received his LLM from King’s College in London in 1995.
