Lebanon’s trade deficit grows over 2.5% in 2013

According to data released by the Lebanese Customs Department, the country’s trade deficit widened by 2.525% year-on-year in 2013, as exports fell by more than $480m, The Daily Star has reported. The trade deficit last year reached $17.292bn, compared with a deficit of $16.797bn in 2012, the department said, without explaining the reasons behind the widening trade deficit.
